PRIVATE PRACTICE APPOINTMENTS
Simon has admitting rights and practices at the Three Shires Hospital, part of the BMI group of hospitals, in Northampton.
His clinics take place every Monday (except Bank Holidays) and alternate Friday Mornings. He will endeavour to see you at the most convenient time and will see you at times outside these set clinics should you not be able to make those days. Please contact us to discuss arrangements.

We will advise you what you require prior to your appointment and any arrangements you need to make before the day.
Initial consultations are for half an hour but should x-rays be required you may find you are with us longer.
During the consultation we discuss your problem, it will include a full examination, X-rays if required and a discussion about further treatment as required.
If a simple treatment can be offered at this consultation such as an injection, it will be carried out. If you require physiotherapy or other treatment we can discuss this and make recommendations.
Simon offers a comprehensive surgical practice which reflects his commitments within the NHS.
Should you require surgery, Simon operates on Thursday afternoons as well as Mondays at the Three Shires Hospital.
We are usually able to offer surgery within two weeks to one month of your initial consultation.
Follow up consultations, either following investigation, or after surgery are for fifteen minutes.

NHS PRACTICE APPOINTMENTS
Simon was appointed as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Northampton General Hospital in April 2005 and took up post here on his return to the UK in August 2005.
Simon’s specialist interest is Hip and Knee replacement including Revision surgery and arthroscopy of the knee.
He performs the majority of revision hip and knee replacements each year in Northampton General Hospital.
Simon is actively involved in the trauma rota at Northampton General Hospital and as such is regularly involved in the care and management of acute fractures of all parts of the body.
Simon performs 400 – 500 primary hip or knee replacements per year.
If you wish to see Simon at the general hospital you will need to discuss this with your GP. Referrals to the NHS are made via your GP via a system called Choose and Book.
The Choose and Book system is available to patients who wish to be seen at the Three Shires and you can discuss this with your General Practitioner.
Your GP will be able to explain how this will work.
MEDICO-LEGAL PRACTICE
Simon acts as an independent medical expert and consults for Medicolegal cases at the Three Shires Hospital.
The majority of his work is for the claimant either on joint instruction or sole basis. He will consider medical negligence cases on an individual basis.
He offers a prompt service and can ensure that a report is completed and returned within fourteen (14) days of review of the client.

PAYMENT
If you are insured we will invoice your insurance company directly following your consultation as well as any surgery.
If you are uninsured we will invoice you directly.
The Three Shires Hospital as part of the BMI Group offers a range of payment options for those who are uninsured but wish to consider the option of private healthcare should surgery be required.
